The Michel Brown Shooting case was not contradicting the Declaration of Independence , because there was not enough evidence to prove for sure the Brown was shot directly because of his race. In the case no evidence was given that could prove for sure that racism was the reason Brown was treated the way he was. Therefore, the ideal about all men being equal does not apply here because this case did not have clearly given specific information to prove for a hundred percent that racism was the cause along with the crimes. Michael Brown did commit a crime, robbing a convince store, so the reason he could have been shot could have been that the police officer was simply trying to do his job and look for the possible suspects. I would wonder if he would have been treated a so differently if he was a white man. If A white man was in the same situation and committed the same crime would he have been treated the same way as Brown. The information given about the case had no way to prove racism was the main factor that caused the police officer to treat him like he did. It would contradicting the declaration for the reason being that the liberty they had gave both men the right, for the police man, to go up to and interrogate him for if he committed a crime, because it was his job, and Brown would have the right to do what he wants although there are laws and their were consequences. Therefore the Declaration of Independence was not contradicted.
